BRUSSELS, BELGIUM: The Brussels Diamond League has released its initial entry lists for the meet slated for Friday (8 Sept).
A day prior, the women’s shot put will be staged as a city event. Among the athletes participating are World Championship gold and silver medalists Chase Ealey and Sarah Mitton, who will be competing alongside Jessica Schilder, Auriol Dongmo, and Fanny Roos.
In the sprint events, Elaine Thompson-Herah is set to run in the 100m, while Shericka Jackson, Zharnel Hughes, and Kenneth Bednarek are slated for the 200m. The 400m will see competitors such as Sada Williams, Lieke Klaver, Matthew Hudson Smith, and Alexander Ogando.
The women’s 1500m features Hirut Meshesha, who holds this year’s fastest time, and Medina Eisa leads in the 5000m.
Previously announced Jakob Ingebrigtsen will aim for the 2000m World record.
Notable field event athletes include Mondo Duplantis in the pole vault, Yaroslava Mahuchikh in the high jump, Ivana Vuleta in the long jump, Shanieka Ricketts in the triple jump, and Haruka Kitaguchi in the javelin throw.
